On July 20, American actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner<\/a><\/span>, known for portraying Theo Huxtable<\/a><\/span> in The Cosby Show<\/a><\/span>, drowned while on a family holiday in Cocles<\/a><\/span>, Lim\u00f3n<\/a><\/span>, Costa Rica<\/a>. His death was verified by the nation’s Judicial Investigation Department<\/a><\/span> (OIJ). He was 54 years old.\n<\/p>\n

According to the OIJ, Warner was pulled out by the current while swimming at Playa Grande<\/a><\/span>. Although he was retrieved from the water by bystanders and treated by the Costa Rica Red Cross, he was pronounced dead at the scene.\n<\/p>\n

As of July 21, People<\/a><\/i> magazine reported that Warner’s representative had not commented on the incident.\n<\/p>\n

Warner also appeared on Sesame Street<\/a>, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air<\/a><\/span>, and The Resident<\/a><\/span>.\n<\/p>\n
