Meta announced<\/a> on Monday that it has appointed former Trump advisor Dina Powell McCormick as president and vice chairman of the company. Meta said Powell McCormick will be a member of the company\u2019s management team and will help guide Meta\u2019s overall strategy and execution.<\/p>\n \u201cDina\u2019s experience at the highest levels of global finance, combined with her deep relationships around the world, makes her uniquely suited to help Meta manage this next phase of growth as the company\u2019s President and Vice Chairman,\u201d Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in the blog post.<\/p>\n Powell McCormick served as deputy national security advisor to President\u00a0Donald Trump.<\/p>\n Trump celebrated the news on Truth Social in a post<\/a> reading: \u201cCongratulations to DINA POWELL MCCORMICK, WHO HAS JUST BEEN NAMED THE NEW PRESIDENT OF META. A great choice by Mark Z!!! She is a fantastic, and very talented, person, who served the Trump Administration with strength and distinction.\u201d<\/p>\n Powell McCormick previously served under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during the George W. Bush administration. She also spent 16\u00a0years\u00a0at\u00a0Goldman\u00a0Sachs\u00a0as\u00a0a\u00a0partner\u00a0in\u00a0senior\u00a0leadership\u00a0roles.<\/p>\n
