The organisers of the Nobel peace prize have said it \u201ccannot be revoked, shared or transferred\u201d after Venezuela\u2019s opposition leader, Mar\u00eda Corina Machado<\/a>, said she wanted to give her award to Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

When Machado was named Nobel laureate in October, it was seen as a snub<\/a> by the White House, despite Machado rushing to dedicate the prize to the US president and his \u201cdecisive support of our cause\u201d.<\/p>\n

Trump has made no secret of his strongly held desire to be awarded the Nobel peace prize<\/a>, the winner of which is selected by an independent five-person committee in Oslo.<\/p>\n

After the US launched airstrikes and a raid in Venezuela that led to the seizure of its leader, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro<\/a>, Machado last week told Fox she wanted to \u201cgive it to him [Trump] and share it with him\u201d on behalf of the Venezuelan people.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat he has done is historic. It\u2019s a huge step towards a democratic transition,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
